#41 Grant King Dirt Champ - Greg Weld

Greg Weld was one of the best to slide a sprint car around the dirt! Just a few of his accolades include winning over 100 sprint car races, winning the 1963 Knoxville Nationals, being crowned champion of the 1967 USAC Sprint Car series and qualifying and starting in the 1970 Indy 500! He was the last driver to pilot a car powered by the famous Novi engine at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway when he crashed during a qualification attempt in 1966.

While his racing career was in full swing, Weld would found the iconic Weld Wheel Industries with the vision of  creating wheels specifically designed to handle high-speed demands without unnecessary weight. By the 1970s and 1980s, Weld Racing wheels were the standard choice for Sprint Car drivers, NHRA drag racers and several other racing series. Weld Wheels delivered the lightweight construction and structural reliability needed to survive extreme speeds on circle tracks and handle launch loads on the drag strip.
