In 1968, after doing some work with Jim Garner on the movie Grand Prix, Garner, driver Dick Guldstrand and Bob Bondurant set up a company that they called American International Racing to satisfy Garners interest to continue racing. Starting out racing Corvettes they made the switch to the Lolo T-70 coupes. The fist race in the Lola was at Sebring in March of ’68, and then continued running at Daytona and Sebring in 1969. The team of Ed Leslie and Lothar Motschenbacher drove the AIR Lola for Jim Garners team and finished a best second
