The past seven years has blown by! Well, I’m that much older, twice a Grandfather to boot, but still surprised by how much work we can get done and have fun doing it. GMP has come a long way in this time with new systems, products, much greater detail and even greater plans, but most importantly we have never changed our focus on customer service and keeping it fun.
Everyone here has passion for what we’re making and no shortage of opportunity to have direct input on what that is. Our Tuesday morning meetings end up in some great discussions and more often than not a lot of fun too. In the end, everyone participates and at one point or another can claim direct responsibility for something in our product line.
While I honestly like it all, I’m most drawn to the sports and road racing cars. From building 1:24th kits as a kid to working as a British Leyland Technician in college, racing 100cc Karts and SCCA Club racing, I’ve been living and breathing automotive stuff as long as I can remember. Related jobs like GM of Elan Motorsports Technologies (Panoz), Dlr Affairs Mgr for Ford’s SVT and Dir. Of Ops for Roush Performance Products all let me stay close to the industry in one way or another.
As for free time, my wife of 30 years has a floral business so helping with computer and facility stuff takes some of it, but most is spent in the shop tinkering. My daily driver is a 91 Alfa 164. Yep, the Alfa keeps me busy, but I really like driving it. There’s also a 1975 Ferrari 308GT4 that I’m very proud of. It’s an entry level Ferrari, but owning this car is a life-long dream come true, and it has been a real source of enjoyment.
